About Dr. Chang
Dr. Andrew Chang is a Taipei-born, Harvard-trained physician, mental health entrepreneur, and Founder of Nunchi Health — a nonprofit advancing mental health equity for immigrant and minority youth.
Dr. Chang earned his BA and MD from Harvard and graduated top of his class from Tsinghua University’s School of Economics and Management. He was elected Class Marshal at Harvard Medical School. His academic research on intergenerational trauma, minority stress, and cross-cultural psychiatry has been published in Nature Mental Health, The Lancet Child & Adolescent Health, Pediatrics, and other leading journals.
In 2023, Dr. Chang founded Nunchi Health, mobilizing a team of 300+ young leaders to deliver free, culturally grounded, peer-led mental health programming to 16,000+ students from 40+ countries. Before founding Nunchi Health, he spent 10+ years in nonprofit leadership, taught in underserved communities in Peru, volunteered at an LGBTQ+ center in Taiwan, and served as an advocate with Partners In Health in rural Mexico. Andrew’s work sits at the intersection of medicine, culture, belonging, and systems design.
Dr. Chang’s innovative work has been recognized by the Schwarzman Scholars program, American Psychiatric Association, Tow Foundation Innovation Fund, International .ORG Impact Awards, Headstream Accelerator, RIVET, Camelback Ventures, and Obama USA Leaders.
